Bounding with our shadow following us through the desert!

Cheers to those who are bounding along to keep doing what moves them forward through what seems like a veritable desert with no reprieve in sight to make it through another hour and another day! This little Kangaroo is living in The Alice Springs Sanctuary. She is loved by Chris “Brolga” Barnes who is the owner and “rescuer” of these Kangaroos at his sanctuary. The entry by this Sanctuary in a Face Book post shows another picture of the 6 month old Kangaroo wrapping her paws onto the man she now follows as he guides her to learn how to keep safe and survive through her growing times until she can be a part of a bigger pack. It seems that by holding on to “Brolga’, Chris Barnes, that this little Kanga might simply be asking him to notice and be aware of her to keep helping her navigate through days when she is concerned that if she is alone that she might not make it out of the dry part of the desert areas within the sanctuary back to the lush cool and comforting aspects of the sanctuary … to her, the safety and comfort seem to be the people that work at the sanctuary and are always there for her when she needs comfort. According to the story, she is actually a diminutive little one and seems scared of her own shadow at times. It seems to me that she is not just learning to survive but also playing and bounding along with her shadow always there. Her survival and joy are at least in part due to the support and love of those who inhabit and work at the sanctuary.

Maybe this little story might spark more checking in and support for those you love and who appear to be managing well, despite their struggles. And for those who relate to the little Kangaroo, keep bounding along and doing what you need to get each day to be fuller giving you a sense of accomplishment and growth knowing that eventually you will get back to your sanctuary. Courageous and inspiring!
